We offer a number of industry specific training packages, including the well-recognised and respected four-day Institution of Occupational Safety & Health ( IOSH ) Managing Safely in the Exhibition and Event Industry training course.If presented in-house, as with all our courses, this course can be tailored to suit organisational requirements, for instance the course can be spread over a convenient time span, such as over four consecutive days, or one / two days per week. One of our most popular courses, the IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition and Event Industry course is also offered as a public course at the UJ Club, Sandell Street (opposite Waterloo Station), London. The IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition and Event Industry training course is designed to reflect the requirements set for managers and supervisors upon whom the responsibilities fall for operational safety. This course also acts as a wonderful foundation from which to progress to the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) National General Certificate. The course is ideal for floor managers, duty managers, organisers and others with operational responsibility, or safety input for exhibitions / events / shows. Part-time health and safety staff, safety representatives and graduates have also found it to be invaluable in providing essential skills for putting health and safety theory into practice. The programme includes overnight project work and concludes with a multi-choice examination. Delegates are required to complete a workplace-based project, which forms part of the overall assessment and must be returned to us within 14 days. A minimum pass rate of 70% is required for certification. An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments. He is a member the Institute of International Risk & Safety Management (MIIRSM), the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health, & The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD) formerly known as The Institute of Training & Development. He has attended Home Office Emergency Planning College courses, including their Safety in Complex & Built Environments course, and holds the International Loss Control Institutes Safety Auditing Certificate, the IRCA Lead Auditor Occupational Health & Safety Auditing Systems 18001 (OHSAS) certificate, and attended the RoSPA’s Quality Safety Auditors 5 day course; and the Internal Auditor Training BVQi Course (registered under National Registration Scheme for Internal Auditors of Quality Systems). Dave has attended multi-disciplinary emergency planning exercises through his role as Safety Advisor, Great Yorkshire Show and also with British Rail.
