Here is an introduction to our Safety Pass Alliance ( SPA ) Passport training courses, with links to each course individually for you to browse. This course is offered both in-house or as a public course at Cadbury’s Keynsham site, near Bristol.The SPA Passport provides a cost-effective, industry-standard fast track to get contractors started on site.The Passport is designed to be used by clients seeking assurance on levels of contractor health and safety awareness. The Passport programme offers basic, practical health and safety training supplemented with safety training tailored to your sector. It can also be utilised to increase safety awareness among full time employees. This training satisfies both the HSE’s training requirement and the client organisations need regarding the health and safety competence of their contractors. All SPA course culminates with a multi-choice questionnaire. Successful delegates will receive a credit card size Safety Passport photocard, which is issued as proof of training, and is backed up by a tightly regulated database that can be checked to verify cardholder details. The Passport's food and drink module is the product of a collaboration between major clients in the sector, including Northern Foods, Geest, Kelloggs Europe, Nestlé UK, Cadbury Trebor Bassett and Bass Brewers. In addition, contractor organisations such as the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) played an invaluable role in validating the training material. The passport is valid for three years. The time frames for being eligible to sit a renewal course are six months prior to expiry or up to three months after expiry. Those who wish to renew their passport more than three months after expiry will have to sit on the full one-day core or two day Food and Drink specific course again.
