Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOP)

This one-day course is designed as an introduction to HAZOP for engineers and others who may be expected to contribute positively towards a study.

The course is designed to give the delegates a structured approach to hazard and operability studies (design risk assessment) and enable the delegates to develop confidence as part of a wider study group.

An introduction to the principles of an examination

Formation of a study team.

Use of guidewords.

Defining objectives, planning, preparation & procedures

Timing and Appropriateness of the study

Group Exercises

On conclusion of the course delegates will have knowledge & understanding of the importance of Hazard & Operability Study as a safety technique; they will understand their role as a study team member and be able to contribute positively to a study.
