Core Health & Safety course

Course duration: one day

Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) Passport Scheme is aimed at contractors who visit client premises (it can also be utilised to increase safety awareness among full time employees). This training event satisfies both the HSE's training requirement and the client organisations need regarding the health and safety competence of their contractors.

The benefits are:

• Contractors will arrive on site trained, not only in the basics of health and safety, but also ready to face the specific safety issues associated with their relevant industry sector.

• The Passport should put an end to unprepared contractor employees on site.

• The passport photocard, which is issued as proof of training, is backed up by a tightly regulated database that can be checked to verify cardholder details.

The generic core day provides one day training in:

• Introduction to health and safety, environmental, safe systems of work, etc.

• Workplace safety access, egress, emergencies, vehicles, equipment, machinery

• Fire precautions & procedures

• Accidents - prevention and reporting and first aid

• Control of substances hazardous to health (CoSHH)

• Manual Handling

• Noise at work

Industry specific training

Additional Industry specific modules are available to enhance health and safety awareness in workers own industry sectors.

SPA Food Hygiene provides one day Industry Specific training in:

• Food Safety

• Environmental Protection

• Health & Safety

The SPA course culminates with multi-choice questionnaire.

Successful delegates will receive a credit card size Safety Passport photocard.

This course is  presented as an in-company package and as a public course.
