Course duration: two daysThe SPA Passport provides a cost-effective, industry-standard fast track to get contractors started on site. It can also be utilised to increase safety awareness among full time employees. This training event satisfies both the HSE's training requirement and the client organisations need regarding the health and safety competence of their contractors. Industry specific training Additional industry specific modules are available to enhance health and safety awareness in workers own industry sectors. SPA Food & Drink Industry Specific training in Food & Drink Safety is aimed at contractors who work in food and drink manufacturing. The SPA Passport food and drink training programme focuses on hygiene and food safety, specific environmental issues and health and safety practices. The Passport's food and drink module is the product of a collaboration between major clients in the sector, including Northern Foods, Geest, Kelloggs Europe, Nestlé UK, Cadbury Trebor Bassett and Bass Brewers. In addition, contractor organisations such as the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) played an invaluable role in validating the training material. Trainees must first attend the core training day to receive a food & drink safety passport - the one-day core course ensures that delegates grasp the basics of general good practice in health and safety. Successful delegates will receive a credit card size Safety Passport photocard, which is issued as proof of training, and is backed up by a tightly regulated database that can be checked to verify cardholder details. The SPA course culminates with a multi-choice questionnaire. Successful delegates will receive a credit card size Safety Passport photocard. The passport is valid for three years.
