RegulationsThe Health and Safety at Work Act 1974This act is in place to ensure the safety health and wellbeing of employees, visitors and the public. Whether the workplace is an office, construction site, shop, exhibition, show, or other business, this legislation requires the employer to meet reasonable standards of instruction, training and supervision, including the provision of sufficient information in relation to ensuring their staff / visitors are in a safe, healthy environment. There are a number of other key regulations to ensure workplace health and safety, these include: The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 The Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977 Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 Of course, these regulations do not cover all areas of workplace health and safety and there are a multitude of other regulations that look after other key areas, such as manual handling, first aid, fire risk assessment, CoSHH and more.
